WORLD CLASS DRUMMERS REVIEWED AT DRUMTASTIC.COM

Eric Carr

Eric's bands before joining KISS were The Cellarmen from 1965-1969, from 1970-1979 he played with Salt and Pepper, Creation, and Mother Nature Father Time (basically same band with minor musical/personnel changes over time), and Bionic Boogie/Flasher, a 4-piece cover band from 1979-1980. The Cellarmen recorded a demo on which Eric wrote two songs - "I Cry at Night" and "Your Turn To Cry." He co-wrote "Break Out" with Ace Frehley for The Elder . Ace used this song for his debut album and KISS used Eric's recorded drum solo from the original demo as "Carr Jam 1981" on Revenge . Wrote a song called "Dial L for Love" with Adam Mitchell intended for Crazy Nights. Wrote and sang leads on a song called "Rock Your Mind" with Ace Frehley intended for Ace's Trouble Walkin' album. Played drums on a Wendy O. Williams tune entitled "Legends Never Die." The song was written by Gene and originally called "When A Legend Dies." For Hot In The Shade, he wrote "Looking Through The Eyes of Love" and "Somebody's Waiting", a ballad that was passed on in favor of "Forever." Co-wrote a tune that appears on Bryan Adam's album, Cuts Like A Knife , called "Don't Leave Me Lonely."
